"Juvies" is a documentary executive produced by Mark Wahlberg and directed by Leslie Neal exposing the U.S. justice system and its wrong doing. The filmmakers tackle the tragedy of trying children as adults and locking them away in adult prisons for inhumane lengthy sentences. The Juvenile justice system was created to protect the children instead the country has declared war on the people we are supposed to protect and nurture.

Project Charlottesville & Creative Charlottesville Auction

Description: Join us 2 May 2009 from 7 - 11 pm for Project Charlottesville & Creative Charlottesville Auction to be held at the Ash Lawn-Highland Hilltop Pavilion. Proceeds from the auction help fund our programs and ultimately educate our community about HIV/AIDS and staying safe.

The AIDS/HIV Services Group is the only community-based provider of HIV testing and prevention services in Central Virginia. Working with all communities and high-risk populations across central Virginia, ASG has had proven success in dramatically reducing the rate of new HIV infection in our area. By helping people to develop the skills to make better choices for themselves about their behaviors, ASG has also had significant impact on rates of unwanted pregnancies, STDs, and substance abuse. In addition, ASG provides financial and practical support to people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS.

This is a fun and magnificent event with fabulous fare, bidding, friend-making, cocktails, and lots of excitement. Tickets cost $65 prior to May 1 and $75 at the door.
