THE TAVERN GIFT SHOP, adjacent to the dining room, offers a wide selection of historical reproductions and an attractive line of gifts that reflect the original Tavern. Faithful reproductions include weaponry from the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, period toys, quill pens, inkwells, tri-corner hats, historical documents, colonial dolls, needlework kits and books. Open daily 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
THE CLOTHIER: PERIOD APPAREL, QUILTS & ACCESSORIES is located in an historic 1822 structure. A vast selection of 18th century apparel is available from head to toe (or rather from mob caps to period stockings). In addition to historic clothing, the shop offers historic patterns, shawls, scarves, jewelry, books, sewing notions and a wide variety of quilts and quilted items. Seasonal (open daily): 11:00 to 4:00 p.m.
THE GENERAL STORE, housed within the Grist Mill, presents shopping opportunities in an old mercantile atmosphere. Two floors offer a wide variety of quality gifts for all ages and occasions. Explore the wonderful array of Virginia-made products, including Virginia wines, foods and old-fashioned candies. Many wares and arts of Virginia origin are proudly represented. A large, educational section is specifically set -aside for young patrons and features entertaining games and toys pertaining to the past. The second floor features multi-era jewelry, pottery, quality collectibles, original historic documents, old currency, books and a Christmas shop --- all of which are staples of this charming store.
