Afton Mountain VineyardsAfton Mountain Vineyards is one of Virginia's pioneer farm wineries. Their original vines were planted in 1978 and '79 and our Cabernet Sauvignon vines are among the oldest in Virginia. The vineyards lie on the southeastern slope of the Blue Ridge Mountains at 960 feet in a setting of sublime beauty and excellence of terroir, that elusive fusion of sun, earth, air and water which Europe's "noble" wine grapes need to thrive. The vineyard neither irrigate nor uses herbicides and employ insecticides only rarely and reluctantly.
Journey south of Charlottesville to taste the award winning wines of this vineyard, tour their wine cave and experience the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains up close.
