Louisa Air Show

The Louisa Air Show is held annually on the first or second Saturday of September. Attracting 4,000 to 6,000 visitors each year, the air show features static aircraft displays, airplane rides and aerobatics in a family-oriented atmosphere. Vendors provide delicious food and drinks for visitors.

The air show was first held in 1991 to help celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of Louisa County. The event proved popular, and has been held annually ever since. The site of the air show is the Louisa County Airport/Freeman Field. The airport was dedicated in 1984. Retired Admiral DeWitt Freeman worked closely with the Louisa Industrial Development Authority to build the airport and it has served the region ever since, providing air transportation and landing space for hobbyists.
