Sunday September 2, 2007 Hatton Ferry Location: Scottsville, VA Description: The Hatton Ferry, one of the last poled ferries still operating in the United States, will run on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from now through mid-October. A small exhibit explores the history of the ferry, and visitors may ride across the river if water levels permit. The Hatton Ferry is located in southern Albemarle, a few miles outside of Scottsville on Route 625. Sunday September 2, 2007 Jamestown Exhibit Highlights Michie Tavern Tour 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Location: 683 Thomas Jefferson Parkway Description: In commemoration of the 400th annivesary of the Jamestown Settlement, Historic Michie Tavern invites visitors to view the Jamestown Exhibit as part of the Tavern tour. The Jamestown exhibit compares and contrasts artifacts of Native Americans to counterparts brought here by the Virginia Company Explorers. Signature Tours. These extended evening tours offer visitors an in-depth look at Monticello. After parking on the mountaintop, visitors in a group of no more than 20 are conducted on an hour-long guided tour of the house (including the third-floor Dome Room) and its dependencies, and given an orientation for self-guided tours of the gardens and grounds.
